Paris-Roubaix: Liquigas-Cannondale celebrates Easter with pavé
The team contests the cobbled classic on Sunday with Daniel Oss as captain

From the Flanders’ cobblestones to the pavé of Paris-Roubaix. Liquigas-Cannondale prepares to wrap up the first part of its cobbled campaign by taking on the infamous “Hell of the North” on Easter Sunday, 8th April.

Leading the green-blue line-up is Trentino native Daniel Oss, who is in good form following the Belgian races. He’ll be joined by another four survivors of the Flemish pavé: Kristijan Koren, Mauro Da Dalto, Ted King and Alan Marangoni. Paolo Longo Borghini is already experienced over this type of parcours whereas Federico Canuti and Juraj Sagan prepare for their Paris-Roubaix debut. DS Dario Mariuzzo will direct the mission from the team car.

«Physically I’m in good condition and above all I hope to make up for my performance in the Tour of Flanders, where I’d expected a better result. » said Oss. «I’ve worked hard to prepare for these races and I really want to produce a stunning ride. Out of all the classics, the “Roubaix” is definitely the one that suits me best. I know its challenges and pitfalls, and I’ll play all my cards to put my stamp on the race. »

«We’ve racked up some good performances in Belgium so we’re going to tackle the Paris-Roubaix with plenty of grit and motivation. » said DS Mariuzzo. «Everything looks good for a strong race and I firmly believe in Daniel’s ability to get a decent result. I won the race in 2004 with Bäckstedt playing the role of outsider: it would be a dream to repeat that experience with these guys. »
