Second race on the cobblestones: tomorrow the Gent-Wevelgem
A Classic race good for sprinters. Liquigas-Cannondale already protagonist in 2010 and 2011
On Sunday 25th March Liquigas-Cannondale will face its second Flemish challenge running the 74th Gent-Welvelgem (seventh race of World Tour calendar). 235 kilometres, 11 sections of cobbles and a route that, traditionally, offers good chances to sprinters.
Green-blu line-up will be the same of E3 Harelbeke: Peter Sagan, Daniel Oss, Kristijan Koren, Maciej Bodnar, Mauro Da Dalto, Tiziano Dall’Antonia, Alan Marangoni e Ted King. In team car directeur sportif Stefano Zanatta.
In last two editions of Gent-Wevelgem Liquigas-Cannondale was among the most competitive teams: in 2010 Oss placed fifth (small group sprint) while in 2011 were Peter Sagan and Maciej Bodnar to stand out: escape at 35 km to go with Stannard and Chavanel caught by the bunch just before last km.
